Cockroaches are quick and sly pests that lurk around in the dark and in darkened areas. They run quickly and hide well. If you aren't sure if you have cockroaches, there are signs you should watch out for. Read on for signs of a cockroach infestation and what you can do about it.

1. Watery Smears

You may have smear marks around your home, including on your walls, counters and other areas of your home. If you have these smears, they may be caused by cockroaches. This is because cockroaches leave behind a trail from the water on their bodies. Cockroaches also leave behind an oily smell, especially after they die. If you are also smelling an oily odor, it could be due to cockroaches.

2. Feces

Cockroaches will leave behind feces everywhere; they aren't trained to do it in one place. You will find these tiny feces specks all over your home. They are usually an oblong shape and are black or brown in color. The feces carry bacteria and can be harmful to your health. The feces needs to be cleaned up properly to prevent health issues.

3. Dead Or Live Cockroaches

If you are seeing live cockroaches, you may have a major infestation, as they usually are well hidden. If you see dead cockroaches somewhere in your home, you still need to have your home checked to be sure you get rid of any other cockroaches you have in your home. Dead cockroaches mean you have or have had an issue, and it should be tended to just in case you still have other live cockroaches in your home. If you see one, you more than likely have hundreds of others. Cockroaches don't usually travel alone.

4. Cockroach Skins

Cockroach skins may also be seen around your home. Just because you have seen the skins doesn't mean you don't have live cockroaches somewhere in your home. Take a close look around your home, especially in darkened areas of your home, and look for other signs of cockroaches. If you see other signs, you should have a pest control company help you get rid of these pests.

About Me
Do You Have Insects and Critters in Your Home?

Do you have unwanted varmints in your home? My name’s Jason Blaine. We used to have many unwanted, non-rent paying, living creatures in our home. In the spring and summer, it was mostly insects. Come fall when the weather began to cool off, the larger critters made their way to our attic. We would sit in the house and hear them scurrying around above us. Our cats were the only ones that seemed to like the alien invasions. They got to play with the insects and hunt the rodents. I didn’t find it to be the least bit pleasant. I finally called in a pest control service and am I glad I did! I’m going to share about our pest control maintenance service. I’ve learned a great deal about the chemicals and how they are now safe for humans. I hope to provide you with helpful information.
